Extreme weather events—such as droughts, floods, and cyclones—can severely impact food security and nutrition. Acting before diets deteriorate and malnutrition escalates is crucial for protecting vulnerable populations from the effects of these events.
The Anticipatory Action and Nutrition Taskforce has launched a series of sessions to explore best country practices and operational tools, and to foster exchange on integrating Anticipatory Action into nutrition programming.
This session is the first of the series and it features: a presentation of WFP's new guidance, a tool that provides practical ways and actionable recommendations to integrate nutrition into anticipatory action programming, and concrete insights from recent country experience in Kenya.
