Locally-Led Anticipatory Action for Nutrition: Yemen and South Sudan

This multilingual webinar took place on Tuesday, 20 January, 12:30 – 14:00 CET/Geneva time

Watch recording (EN/FR/AR)

This second session of the Anticipatory Action for Nutrition Webinar Series shares lessons from the project “Enhancing the Involvement and Leadership of Local and National Nutrition Actors in Anticipatory Action”. This project was implemented through the national nutrition clusters in two high‑severity contexts – South Sudan and Yemen – throughout 2025, with support from SIDA and Irish Aid.

The webinar features:

1) Two concise presentations from South Sudan and Yemen project teams, highlighting key achievements (e.g. National recommendations for nutrition in AA) and lessons learned from the project.

2) A high-level dialogue with national actors (i.e. government representatives, AA coordination lead, national civil society, local pooled fund) from South Sudan and Yemen, unpacking the challenges and opportunities.

Learning outcomes:

  • Concrete examples of nutrition entry points in AA systems
  • Comparative lessons from two high severity contexts
  • Importance of local participation and local leadership in AA decision-making
  • Practical insights to inform strategies, programme design, and joint advocacy

🎧 The webinar recording is available with audio tracks in English, French, and Arabic.

A Q&A with the presenters followed the session.
