Linking Early Child Development and Wasting Programming in Emergencies

This multilingual webinar took place on Wednesday, 12 November, 14:00 – 15:30 CET/Geneva time

Watch recording in English or French

The evidence is clear that nutrition in emergencies programmes that include interventions to support early child development (ECD) have a cumulative positive effect on a child’s nutritional status and developmental outcomes.

This webinar discusses the inclusion of early child development within wasting programming by:

1 – Familiarizing participants with the ECD recommendations in the WHO Wasting Guideline

2 – Providing an overview of the resource: ECD Actions for Wasting Programmes in Humanitarian Action (UNICEF)

3 – Sharing lessons learned from Mali on supporting early child development in wasting programmes.

The webinar includes an extended Q&A session, allowing participants to exchange experiences of successes and overcoming challenges to incorporating ECD interventions within wasting programming.

🎧 The webinar recording is available with audio tracks in English and French.
