ِAnnual report 2024

January to December 2024

Current Challenges

Some of the key challenges the sector faced during the reporting period was constrained coordination with the NES forum due to complexities on data sensitivities and information sharing. This limited the ability of the WoS coordination team to effectively reflect specific concerns and gaps from NES hub. This, however, slightly improved in the first and second quarter of 2022 with commencement of participation of NES NWG in the WoS coordination meetings. The WoS Coordinator has established regular coordination meetings with the NES Working Group chairs to discuss on better collaboration and areas of support.

There was a reduction of 40 per cent of the RRTs coverage in NWS in the first quarter due to funding constraints which had direct implications in programme coverage and consequently number of people in need reached. The coverage of treatment of moderate wasting remained below 40 per cent across Syria due to funding constraints. Discussions to address this are on-going.
