Mid Year Report 2025

January to June 2025

Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP) 2025
Current Challenges
  1. Reduced funding and operational capacity among Cluster partners
Due to limited humanitarian financing in 2025, several organizations have scaled down their involvement in the Nutrition Cluster. This has weakened the overall capacity to implement timely and coordinated nutrition responses, particularly in high-risk and hard-to-reach areas.

  2. Underreporting of acute malnutrition due to weak community-level detection
Although reported cases of acute malnutrition appear to have declined, this likely reflects gaps in active screening and growth monitoring rather than an actual improvement. The lack of timely identification delays life-saving interventions and masks the true scale of the crisis.

  3. Lack of explicit integration of nutrition in the National Response Plan (PNR)
Nutrition is only implicitly included under the health function in the PNR, which limits its visibility and prioritization in emergency preparedness and response. Sustained advocacy is required to position nutrition as a critical and standalone component of national emergency planning.
