Rasha

My name is Rasha, and I am the Deputy Global Nutrition Cluster Coordinator for the Rapid Response Team, working together with a dedicated team of nutrition cluster coordinators and information management officers. In my role, I provide support to country-level Nutrition in Emergencies (NiE) coordination mechanisms. Specifically, I work with a dedicated rapid response team to communicate and support countries with coordination, information management (IM), rapid NiE response, Nutrition Information Systems (NIS), capacity strengthening, inter-sectoral collaboration, emergency response preparedness, and anticipatory actions.

I am a trained physician with a BSc in General Medicine and Surgery and a MSc in Health Administration. For more than 21 years, I’ve worked in nutrition in humanitarian and development contexts, including managing complex nutrition programmes in northern Africa and the Middle East and helping to establish the nutrition cluster in the State of Palestine. 

My husband is also a physician and very supportive. Together, we have two children – a son studying economics and a daughter who is studying public health. I’m based in Geneva where I enjoy cooking, reading, and watching movies.
