Colleen

Hello, I’m Colleen Emary and I am the GNC Operations Team Coordinator. In my role, I oversee the functioning and coordination of the GNC Programme Team. I lead in developing the strategic direction of the Operations Team, including its procedures, processes, and partnerships in collaboration with the rest of the Operations Management Group, the Programme Leadership Team and the Technical Lead Agency Advisory Group. I coordinate and engage with GNC partners and other technical assistance providers to ensure support requests are handled with the best possible resources and also engage with other prioritized projects identified in the GNC strategy, including the GNC’s Global Thematic Working Groups.

I have been working in the international public health nutrition field for over 20 years, in both development and humanitarian contexts. My areas of interest include nutrition in emergencies, infant and young child feeding, management of wasting, and multi-sectoral approaches to improving child health and nutrition outcomes. I have led nutrition policy and technical guidance development, including capacity strengthening initiatives and have been an active contributor to the Global Nutrition Cluster for many years.

I studied Nutritional Sciences at the University of Guelph, and hold a Master’s degree in Public Health Nutrition from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I live and work remotely from Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.
